The Madeira Islands Open is one of the greatest sporting events that takes place in the Madeira Autonomous Region, and in particular on the Island of Porto Santo. In this year of 2010, Porto Santo has concentrated the general attentions of this European Tour PGA circuit event, having greater coverage on a European and even world level, as it has assured daily coverage through various television channels, newspapers and specialty magazines.

At a time when the Madeira Autonomous Region, ravaged by the storms of the 20th of February, recovers from these tragic events, the staging of this great sporting and touristic event is a source of great satisfaction for all of us. The presence of various professional golfers, those travelling with them and various media, will help us overcome this situation and guarantee everyone that visits us, the excellence that Madeira and Porto Santo offers for sporting and leisure activities, as well as for holidays.
